Rickie Lee Jones - Pirates (33 rpm, 180 g)

The second album of RLJ was taken shortly after their debut album in January 1980 in Hollywood, but rather bulky work appeared in the summer of 1981. Then it through to actually actually at number 5 on the Billboard charts and critics heaped Rickie Lee Jones with praise for their courage with the second work a lot to do differently. It is in fact a mixture of pop, jazz and soul, which is backed by wonderful piano episodes.

Sonically, the work is extremely well done and the impulsive vocal style of the crystalline voice blends perfectly with the dynamic game of the band. Here the emotional work of David Sanborn on saxophone is particularly emphasized on "Pirates" and "Woody and Dutch". Among the well-known guest artists of the band include Donald Fagan and Victor Feldman.

The MFSL-Re-Mastering with Rob Loverde offers the factory in absolute airiness and powerful dynamics with minimal noise band analog tapes. The re-issue will appear in the mini-LP with enclosed lyric sheet and consecutive serial number.
