André Previn & Royal Philharmonic Orchestra – Holst: The Planets

André Previn and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra - Holst: The Planets
In 1986 Telarc released this recording from Watford Town Hall in London. André Previn and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra sweep through the stars of Gustav Holst with great playfulness and enormous dynamic range. Friends of bombastic orchestral works with enormous pressure in the bass range come here at their expense. Recorded completely digital with a modified Sony PCM 1610 recorder using Schoeps MK2 and MK4 microphones.
