Stevie Ray Vaughan - Texas Flood (Hybrid SACD)
Stevie Ray Vaughan and his band Double Trouble were the cause of the blues revival of the early 80s. After the Blues had led a shadowy existence in the 70's in the US and the sales figures just in America far behind those of other genres were behind Texas Flood changed everything. In the Year 1983, the album climbed to number 38 on the Billboard charts and stayed longer than six months listed.
Stevie Ray Vaughan had this really only played in the studio, which he commanded in previous years in Texan clubs. His guitar work on the album Let's Dance David Bowie had a few months ago made him known to a wider mass greedily waiting now for more virtuosic guitar work and just get to hear this.
The MFSL re-mastering is based on the dark sound of the master tape and sound engineer Shawn R. Britton has not succumbed to the temptation artificial Hochtonglanz on the admission of lay. We are experiencing the blues bleak and dynamic as it was recorded in 1982 in Downtown Studios. The MFSL re-issue appears as a hybrid SACD with additional booklet.
